Musetti was given a wildcard entry into the qualifiers at the Dubai Tennis Championships this year. However, he managed to qualify for the main draw of the event, though he lost in the first round to Andrey Rublev.

Musetti is coached by Simone Tartarini, that has been following Lorenzo since he was 8 years old, and Lorenzo has always considered the close relationship with his coach as one of the key elements of his success.
