The 35-year-old has, however, always made it a point to cite his family in his success. He was introduced to tennis by his parents when he was young and he never misses the chance to celebrate them.

When Djokovic won the Shanghai Masters in 2018, he immediately shared the spotlight with his family, revealing how they supported him to make a return from an elbow injury.

“Family is the key to success and balance [in] life. Emotionally they helped me a lot when I had the surgery. It’s a blessing to be a father and have a lovely family,” he said.

And after emerging champion of the 2022 Wimbledon, Djokovic again acknowledged the presence and support of his family, saying: “My family, my parents are here, oh my daughter’s here as well. Oh wow, OK.”
